What we do
California Ignition Interlock installs, services, and removes California-certified ignition interlock devices. If a court or the California DMV has required an IID on your vehicle, we handle the entire process: installing the device, training you on how to use it, completing the compliance paperwork the DMV needs, servicing the unit every 60 days, and removing it when your program ends.

The device we install
We install the Draeger Interlock XT. Older interlock hardware used semiconductor sensors that could be set off by substances containing no alcohol at all. The XT uses an alcohol-specific fuel cell instead, so it responds to alcohol (ethanol) and ignores those non-alcohol triggers. That does not mean it ignores everything except drinks - anything that genuinely contains alcohol, including hand sanitizer, mouthwash, some breath sprays, and certain cold medicines, can register a reading. Rinse with water and wait a few minutes before testing.
