The Costa Mesa shop
We install and service at 1908 Pomona Ave, Unit C, Costa Mesa, CA 92627, close to where the 55 meets the 405. It is the most central of our three locations, which makes it the practical choice for anyone whose day runs along the coast rather than up into the north of the county.
Coastal and central Orange County
Costa Mesa is the nearest shop for drivers in Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Santa Ana, Westminster, Tustin and Garden Grove. North county is better served from Brea, and south county from Lake Forest.
Mobile installation along the coast
A lot of the interest in mobile service comes from this part of the county, usually for one of two reasons: the vehicle is not currently driveable, or the working day does not leave a window to sit in a shop. We install at homes and workplaces across Orange County either way. What to expect
- Bring yourself and the vehicle. Nothing else - not your license, not the court order, not the registration.
- Installation. Around an hour and a half on a standard vehicle. Anything atypical is quoted first, never after.
- Training. Starting the vehicle, rolling retests, and what the display is telling you.
- Documentation. Including DL 920, the Verification of Installation the California DMV needs from you.
The device we install
The California-certified Draeger Interlock XT. It uses an alcohol-specific fuel cell rather than an older semiconductor sensor, so it responds to alcohol and ignores the things that used to trigger false readings. It will still register anything that genuinely contains alcohol - hand sanitizer, mouthwash, some breath sprays and certain cold medicines - so rinse with water and wait a few minutes before you test.
Lockouts
If the device goes into a violation lockout, call us before you call a tow truck. We can usually clear it remotely.
